UB40 is one of the world's most culturally diverse dub reggae bands, with musicians of English, Scottish, Irish, Yemeni and Jamaican parentage.
Formed in Birmingham in 1978, they are known for their many hits, including the hugely popular Red, Red Wine.
The band is named after the paper form issued by the UK government's Department of Health and Social Security for claiming unemployment benefit (UB40 = Unemployment Benefit, Form 40).
