David
Slater, a career British Diplomat currently on loan from the
Foreign and Commonwealth Office to
UK Trade & Investment, was appointed Her Majesty's Consul and
Director (West Coast) of UK Trade and Investment USA on 1 July 2005.
Based at the British Consulate General in Los Angeles, David is
responsible for the operations of UK Trade and Investment (the UK
Government's international business development agency) in the 11
States west of the Rockies. From August, 2002 until he his current
appointment, he was Head of the Regional Inward Investment Team,
also based at the British Consulate General in Los Angeles.
Before arriving in Los Angeles, David served as a Trade and
Investment Officer at the British High Commission in New Delhi,
India. He has also previously served as a political desk officer at
the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London, at the British High
Commission in Accra, Ghana and the British Embassies in Abu Dhabi
and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. He lives in Los Angeles with
his wife, Angela, and their two children. |
