As part of BritWeek 2013, L.A. Theatre Works will present an HD videocast of The National Theatre’s production of People, a new play by award-winning playwright Alan Bennett (The History Boys; The Madness of King George), who reunites with director Nicholas Hytner and Olivier Award-winning actress Frances de la Tour (Rising Damp; Harry Potter).

Set in a faded stately home, the play deals with the aristocratic owner’s efforts to meet mounting bills while having decidedly mixed feelings about becoming part of the “heritage industry.”

“Entertaining, funny and touching” – Charles Spencer, The Telegraph
“Bennett has lost none of his edge” – Michael Billington, The Guardian
“Plenty of laughs” – Christopher Hart, The Sunday Times
